Description:
Do you have some low-voltage experience and looking for a long-term career and not just a job? State Fire Idaho is hiring a Fire Alarm Technician Trainee in Pocatello, ID. No experience is necessary, we'll provide hands-on training for the right person who's ready to learn, work hard, and grow with us. This is a great opportunity to join an established and growing company in a high-demand trade with room for advancement.
What You'll Do:
Assist with the installation, service, and maintenance of fire alarm systems Work alongside experienced technicians to learn the trade Keep job sites clean, safe, and organized Use hand tools and basic power tools Load, unload, and organize materials Follow safety protocols and complete required paperwork Travel occasionally if needed for jobs outside the immediate area
Requirements:
What We're Looking For:
No experience required; we'll train the right candidate who demonstrates reliability, motivation, and a desire to grow with us Low voltage experience preferred History of longer-term employment in previous positions Mechanically inclined with a strong work ethic Willing to learn and grow in the fire protection industry Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions Able to communicate effectively in English Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in active construction settings Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 70 lbs Able to kneel, crouch, climb, and work in tight spaces Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Ability to work full shifts on your feet and travel to job sites Why Join State Fire Idaho?
