The role focuses on ensuring systems meet code requirements, perform reliably, and provide timely service and documentation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with fire alarm equipment, strong troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with NICET standards and service best practices. Key Responsibilities Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems and components including control panels, detectors, notification devices, and wiring per manufacturer specifications and NFPA codes. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of fire alarm systems to verify functionality and compliance with local and national codes (NFPA 72). Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults, wiring issues, and device malfunctions; perform timely repairs and replacements to restore full operation. Respond to service calls, prioritize work orders, and communicate clearly with customers about findings, recommended repairs, and system status. Complete accurate service reports, test results, and job documentation in company systems; maintain parts inventory and order supplies as needed. Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, and building managers on installations and system upgrades; ensure clean, organized job sites and adherence to safety procedures. Stay current with product updates, code changes, and best practices through training and professional development; assist in mentoring junior technicians as needed. Qualifications 2+ years of experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems or equivalent technical experience. NICET certification (Level II or higher preferred) or actively pursuing NICET certification. Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire codes, wiring practices, and system schematics. Experience with testing equipment, system programming tools, and common fire alarm brands (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, Honeywell, Bosch) preferred. Valid drivers license, clean driving record, and ability to travel to customer sites; willingness to work occasional nights or weekends for emergency service.
