Job Summary The Fire Alarm Specialist is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and life safety systems supporting government and operational facilities. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and NFPA codes and standards while maintaining mission-critical fire detection and alarm systems in a secure environment. Responsibilities Install, program, test, inspect, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems and associated components. Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of system failures. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance in accordance with NFPA standards and manufacturer specifications. Ensure systems meet regulatory compliance requirements and pass Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) inspections. Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, testing results, repairs, and system modifications. Support fire protection systems in specialized facilities, including warehouses, operational buildings, and secure areas. Coordinate with facility management, safety personnel, and government representatives as required. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and site-specific requirements. Requirements Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of working experience within related fire alarm systems, including installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting. NICET Certification - Level II (Fire Alarm Systems) required. Texas Fire Alarm Technician License (FAL) required. Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards related to fire alarm and life safety systems. Experience working in commercial, industrial, or government facilities. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Preferred Qualifications NICET Level III certification (Fire Alarm Systems). Experience supporting government or military installations. Additional fire protection or life safety related certifications. Experience working in secure, controlled-access, or high-compliance environments.
