Monday-Friday, approximately 8:30 AM-5:00 PM General Surveillance Security Systems is hiring a full-time Alarm / Security Systems Technician to join our long-established team. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for an experienced low-voltage technician who wants steady work, a fully equipped company vehicle, competitive pay, and hands-on experience with a wide variety of security systems. Our technicians install, service, and troubleshoot intrusion alarm systems, fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV, and IP video surveillance systems for commercial, residential, and national retail customers throughout Southeast Michigan. This is a good fit for a technician who takes pride in clean work, can troubleshoot independently, communicates professionally, and wants to be part of a small, experienced team where quality matters. Responsibilities Install, service, and troubleshoot intrusion alarm systems, fire alarm systems, CCTV / IP video surveillance systems, and access control systems Perform clean, professional, code-compliant low-voltage work Diagnose system issues and complete repairs efficiently Document work performed with accurate service notes, photos, and job updates Communicate professionally with customers, office staff, and project managers Follow daily schedules, site requirements, and safety standards Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicle stock, and job materials Stay current on systems, products, and industry best practices Required Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on experience in the security, alarm, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, or low-voltage industry Strong troubleshooting skills with low-voltage and electronic systems Ability to work independently and manage daily assignments responsibly Valid driver's license with a clean driving record High school diploma or equivalent Professional attitude and strong customer communication skills Preferred Qualifications Fire alarm service or inspection experience NICET certification, or interest in pursuing NICET certification Experience working in commercial environments Familiarity with structured cabling, door hardware, and IP networking basics Experience with systems such as Honeywell / Resideo, DSC, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Hikvision, Digital Watchdog, PDK, or similar platforms What We Offer Competitive pay: $24
