The technician will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including fire alarm systems, burglar alarm systems, electronic security systems, access control systems, and related life-safety infrastructure. This role involves working on construction projects, system upgrades, inspections, and service calls while ensuring all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), North Carolina electrical licensing requirements, Security Systems Licensing Board requirements, and applicable fire and building codes. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians who take pride in high-quality installations, safety compliance, and reliable system performance. Key Responsibilities Install, service, and troubleshoot commercial low voltage systems, including fire alarm, burglar alarm, CCTV, and access control systems Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts Install wiring, devices, panels, sensors, and related electrical components Conduct system testing, inspections, and commissioning to ensure proper operation Diagnose system faults and perform repairs or component replacements Ensure installations comply with National Electrical Code (NEC), North Carolina electrical regulations, and applicable fire and building codes Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and site supervisors during installations Document service activity, inspections, and system performance Maintain safe use of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and installation equipment Minimum Qualifications Experience installing or servicing fire alarm and/or burglar alarm systems (REQUIRED) Strong knowledge of low voltage wiring, system installation, and troubleshooting Ability to read construction drawings, electrical schematics, and device layouts Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for low voltage systems Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to work independently or as part of a project team Strong communication and problem-solving skills Licensing Requirements (North Carolina / Charlotte) Work performed under a North Carolina Electrical Contractor License (SP-FA/LV - Fire Alarm / Low Voltage) Fire alarm, burglar alarm, and low voltage systems fall under the
SP-FA/LV
