Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Supervisor to lead the installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems on new construction multi-family housing projects , including apartments, condominiums, and mixed-use residential developments. This role is responsible for managing field installations from rough-in through final system acceptance, supervising technicians on-site, and coordinating with general contractors and other trades to ensure projects are completed on time and in compliance with applicable fire and electrical codes. This position requires frequent travel (50% or more) to project sites to support installation and project completion. Key Responsibilities Fire Alarm Installation & Project Leadership Lead installation of fire alarm systems on multi-family residential construction project Manage projects from rough-in wiring through trim-out, programming, and final commissioning Supervise and support field technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors Ensure installations follow project drawings, specifications, and construction schedules System Programming & Commissioning Program and configure fire alarm control panels and associated devices Install and configure: Smoke detectors. Heat detectors, Pull stations, Monitor and control modules, Notification appliances, Integrate systems with sprinkler monitoring, elevator recall, and other life safety systems, Perform system startup and functional testing Testing & Inspections Conduct pre-test inspections to verify proper system operation Prepare systems for fire marshal and AHJ inspections Assist with final acceptance testing and address any deficiencies Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes Construction Coordination Coordinate work with general contractors, electricians, and sprinkler contractors Participate in job site meetings when necessary Identify installation conflicts and develop solutions to maintain project timelines Documentation & Reporting Maintain service reports and installation documentation Assist with as-built drawings and project closeout documentation Communicate project progress and material needs to project management
Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent 5+ years experience installing or servicing fire alarm systems Experience working in new construction environments Experience with multi-family or commercial construction projects Ability to read construction drawings, fire alarm risers, and wiring diagrams Knowledge of NFPA 72 and NEC codes Willingness to travel 50%+ to project sites Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Preferred:
NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level II or higher) Manufacturer certifications (Notifier, Honeywell, Silent Knight, Edwards, Siemens, etc.) OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Low-voltage or electrical license
