Job Description

Lead Fire & Security Technician Take the Lead in Protecting What Matters Most Since 1969, Security Equipment, Inc. From fire alarms and intrusion systems to access control and IP video, we deliver fully integrated protection backed by our U.L.-listed 24/7/365 Customer Care Center. We're looking for a Lead Fire & Security Technician who's ready to step into a leadership role—someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys mentoring others, and is passionate about delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer experiences. What You'll Do Lead fire alarm and security system installations from start to finish Serve as the on-site expert and primary contact for customers and project teams Mentor and develop junior technicians, sharing best practices and expertise Interpret blueprints, schematics, and project requirements Install, program, and configure systems (fire alarm, intrusion, access control, IP video) Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues Ensure all work meets NEC standards, manufacturer specs, and local codes Maintain organized, professional job sites and accurate documentation Partner with Project Managers and Service Teams for seamless project completion Support inventory management and maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle Participate in ongoing technical and leadership training What You Bring 3-5+ years of hands-on fire and electronic security system experience NICET I or II certification (preferred) Current Nebraska fire inspection & installation license Proven leadership experience in guiding teams and delegating work Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex systems Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and perform physical tasks Valid driver's license with a clean record Ability to pass background and drug screening Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and occasional overtime Schedule Monday-Friday, standard 8-hour day Overtime as needed Why SEi?
