Job Description About Role Join our dynamic team as a Fire Alarm Technician and become a vital part of ensuring safety and security through expert installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new construction to service calls, utilizing your technical skills and mechanical knowledge. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will play a key role in safeguarding lives and property by delivering reliable fire alarm solutions with precision and professionalism. Duties Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with industry standards and local codes Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to ensure accurate system setup Conduct construction inspections to verify proper installation practices for fire alarm components and related systems Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to calibrate sensors, alarms, and low voltage wiring connections Perform system commissioning and ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and fire safety regulations Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to integrate fire alarm systems seamlessly into building infrastructure Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on-site and delivering prompt solutions to minimize system downtime Assist in fire sprinkler fitting and mechanical tasks when required, leveraging your broad construction knowledge Engage in alarm system sales or fire alarm sales activities by explaining system features to clients and recommending upgrades or enhancements Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or installer in fire alarm systems or related low voltage systems Strong understanding of schematics, electrical wiring, sensors, and system design principles Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings accurately Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for installation and repairs Knowledge of the NEC codes related to electrical wiring and fire alarm systems Familiarity with construction processes, inspection procedures, and building safety standards Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical or sensor issues efficiently Effective communication skills for working with team members, clients, and vendors
