At Gardiner, our Fire Alarm Technician plays an important role in keeping our customers and their spaces safe—while being part of a team that supports each other and takes pride in the work we do.
Essential Functions include the following:
other duties may be assigned: Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems to support proper operation and alignment with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer specificationsPerform scheduled preventative maintenance and system testing, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actionsProvide on-site guidance to customers on system operation and life safety best practicesBuild and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams while serving as a technical resourcePartner with project managers and internal teams to support inspections, upgrades, and system modificationsAccurately document service activities, test results, and corrective actions in line with company expectations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school coursework in electronics, fire protection, or a related field is a plus4 + years of experienceExtensive knowledge of programmingWillingness to obtain the appropriate State of Ohio fire alarm licenseNICET or other relevant certifications are highly desirableWorking knowledge of NFPA standards, local codes, and manufacturer specificationsStrong technical aptitude, including the ability to read schematics, troubleshoot, and maintain systemsStrong communication skills and attention to detail
