Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage and security systems across various commercial and residential projects. This role requires a strong technical background in electrical systems, security solutions, and telecommunication infrastructure. Responsibilities Install, configure, and service low voltage systems including CCTV, alarms, fire alarms, sensors, and access control systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure proper system installation and troubleshooting. Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify functionality and compliance with safety standards. Perform cabling, wiring, and termination of security systems, telecommunication lines, and power supplies using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose system issues through remote access software or on-site inspections; perform repairs or replacements as needed. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure seamless integration of low voltage infrastructure. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, system configurations, and service reports. Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking, system design, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and remote access software. Mechanical knowledge related to construction practices and the use of hand tools and power tools such as drills, wire strippers, and screwdrivers. Experience with CCTV surveillance systems, sensors, alarm systems (including security system sales), fire alarms, and locksmithing techniques. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, NEC standards, and telecommunication cabling practices. Proven field service experience working on security systems or low voltage electrical projects. Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues related to security systems, surveillance equipment, sensors, and alarm systems. Knowledge of construction processes related to installing low voltage infrastructure in commercial or residential settings. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
