Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This role involves inspection, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards Diagnose and repair system issues including false alarms, ground faults, wiring issues, and device failures Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems, including device termination and panel configuration Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for system layout and troubleshooting Conduct system upgrades, retrofits, and expansions as needed Provide detailed service reports, documenting deficiencies, corrective actions, and recommended repairs Ensure all work complies with local codes, NFPA standards, and company quality standards Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and customers to ensure successful job completion Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service response Qualifications NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level II preferred) Minimum 2+ years of experience with commercial fire alarm systems Strong understanding of NFPA 72 and applicable codes Experience with major fire alarm systems (e.g., Notifier, Simplex, EST, Siemens, etc.) preferred Proficient with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, circuit testers, and programming software Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Basic computer proficiency for reporting and system programming Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments (construction sites, ceilings, outdoors) CompensationBenefits Competitive pay (based on experience and certifications) Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid HolidaysPaid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) Life insurance and additional voluntary benefits Company vehiclefuel card Company-provided cell phone and tablet Ongoing training and career advancement opportunities
