POSITION SUMMARY D80
Systems (a part of PowerPlus Companies) is seeking a skilled Lead Fire Alarm Technician for a hands-on, field-based role covering installation, testing, and service of fire alarm systems on commercial and multi-family projects. The ideal candidate is technically sharp, self-directed, and comfortable with significant travel and working independently in the field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, wire, and terminate devices, panels, and peripherals per drawings and NFPA 72 Program and commission addressable and conventional fire alarm systems Perform testing, functional checks, and final inspections in coordination with the AHJ Troubleshoot wiring faults, device failures, and panel communication issues Complete as-built markups, test reports, and daily job documentation Coordinate with GCs and other trades on-site to keep projects on schedule Maintain tools, test equipment, and company vehicle in good working order Follow all jobsite safety protocols and OSHA requirements Provide guidance to apprentices or helpers working alongside you
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of fire alarm installation and/or service experience Experience with Notifier, Simplex, EST, Bosch, or similar panels Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and local code requirements Ability to program and commission addressable fire alarm systems Proficient with low-voltage wiring, conduit runs, and device terminations Able to read blueprints, riser diagrams, and shop drawings
CERTIFICATIONS NICET
Fire Alarm Systems certification preferred but not required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
TRAVEL & FIELD REQUIREMENTS
Significant multi-state travel required; extended time away from home is expected Must be available for varied schedules including early starts and occasional weekends Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work from ladders/aerial lifts, and in confined space Company vehicle and all travel expenses provided
