12 Volt Installer Texas Communications Inc Abilene, TX Job Details Full-time $16 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork Driver's License Attention to detail Power tools Hand tools Full Job Description Job Summary Texas Communications Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 12 Volt Installer to join our team in Abilene, TX. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair emergency vehicle equipment and accessories, including emergency lighting, sirens, communication systems, and other public safety equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other emergency response vehicles while contributing to the safety and functionality of first responder fleets. Responsibilities Install emergency vehicle equipment, including lights, sirens, radios, consoles, cameras, and other safety accessories Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues related to installed equipment Test and inspect completed installations to ensure proper operation and quality standards Perform maintenance and upgrades on emergency vehicle equipment Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow company procedures and safety guidelines at all times Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines Qualifications Experience with 12-volt electrical systems, vehicle equipment installation, automotive electronics, or mechanical work preferred Knowledge of wiring, electrical troubleshooting, and vehicle accessory installation Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals Strong technical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Experience with emergency vehicle equipment, public safety communications systems, or aftermarket automotive accessories is a plus Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for training and career growth Stable, full-time employment Hands-on work with specialized emergency vehicle technology Supportive, team-oriented work environment
