Pay Rate:
$18-$19 TradSTAR is hiring a Fire Alarm Helper for commercial low-voltage projects throughout the Austin area. This is an entry-level support role working alongside experienced fire alarm technicians on installation, service, and inspection projects. Responsibilities Assist fire alarm technicians with installation and service tasks. Pull, route, and support low-voltage fire alarm cabling. Mount and assist with installation of devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, and notification appliances. Help install conduit, J-hooks, supports, and cable pathways. Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and system checks. Maintain clean and organized job sites. Follow safety procedures and assist in maintaining code-compliant installations. Support technicians with tools, materials, and general labor tasks as needed. Qualifications Prior low-voltage or construction experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn fire alarm systems and industry standards. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Basic hand tools and familiarity with job site safety practices is a plus. Ability to lift materials and work from ladders or lifts when needed. Reliable transportation required.
