Pay Rate:
$18-$19 hr TradSTAR is hiring a Low Voltage Helper for commercial structured cabling and security projects throughout the Austin area. This is an entry-level support role working alongside experienced technicians in structured cabling, fire alarm, access control, and other low-voltage systems. Responsibilities Assist technicians with installation of low-voltage systems including structured cabling, fire alarm, security, and access control. Pull, route, and support Cat5e/Cat6 and other low-voltage cabling. Install cable pathways such as J-hooks, conduit, ladder rack, and supports. Assist with mounting devices, racks, panels, and equipment. Help with testing, troubleshooting, and basic system setup. Maintain clean and organized job sites. Follow safety guidelines and assist with code-compliant installations. Support technicians with tools, materials, and general labor tasks. Qualifications Prior construction or low-voltage experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn multiple low-voltage systems and trade skills. Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment. Basic hand tools and job site safety awareness is a plus. Ability to lift materials and work from ladders or lifts when needed. Reliable transportation required.
