Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of low voltage systems across commercial and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, networking, and security technology, with an emphasis on safety and precision. The ideal candidate will have experience in field service, system design, and technical installation, ensuring seamless operation of security, fire alarm, CCTV, and telecommunication systems. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing advanced tools and techniques in a dynamic environment. Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including security alarms, CCTV surveillance, fire alarm systems, sensors, and access control devices. Perform cabling and wiring tasks following NEC standards and schematics to ensure reliable system performance. Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify proper operation of security systems, sensors, IDS, and remote access software. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, wiring diagrams, and service reports. Provide on-site field service support for system installation, repair, and upgrades. Collaborate with clients to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions for security system sales and construction projects. Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete installation tasks efficiently. Adhere to safety protocols related to electrical work and construction environments. Assist in troubleshooting complex issues involving computer hardware, network connectivity, or telecommunication systems related to low voltage infrastructure. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems such as security alarms, CCTV surveillance, fire alarms, or telecommunication networks. Strong knowledge of electrical principles including NEC standards and schematics interpretation. Familiarity with computer networking concepts, remote access software, and system design principles. Mechanical knowledge related to construction practices and the use of power tools. Hands-on experience with sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV cameras, alarm systems sales processes, locksmithing skills are a plus. Experience working with security systems including surveillance equipment and alarm system integration is highly desirable. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
