Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an Alarm Technician specializing in Fire, Burglary, Voice Data, and IT systems! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and communication systems. Your expertise will ensure our clients' safety and operational efficiency by delivering top-tier service and technical solutions. Responsibilities Install, configure, and service fire alarm systems, burglar alarms, CCTV surveillance, voice/data networks, and IT infrastructure. Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to diagnose issues with sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), security panels, and related hardware. Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately assemble and repair low voltage electrical systems. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform cabling, conduit installation, and hardware mounting with precision. Perform system upgrades and modifications to enhance security features or adapt to new client requirements. Maintain detailed documentation of installations, service reports, system configurations, and maintenance logs. Communicate effectively with clients to explain system functions, provide training on remote access software, and recommend security solutions or upgrades. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician in alarm systems or security technology fields. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring and cabling. Familiarity with computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols essential for remote access software and surveillance systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and construction plans. Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems, CCTV cameras (surveillance), sensors, IDS components, and telecommunication wiring. Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire strippers, drills, power tools like NEC-compliant power equipment. Knowledge of security system design principles including system integration for voice/data/IT networks. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently in complex security environments. Valid experience in field service roles involving installation or maintenance of security or telecommunication systems is highly preferred. Construction background or familiarity with building schematics is advantageous. Strong communication skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
