This paid training position offers you the opportunity to develop specialized skills in access control systems, CCTV surveillance, alarm systems, and low voltage electrical work. You will work alongside experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience in system design, cabling, and field service operations, all while contributing to the safety and security of commercial and residential clients. Duties Assist in installing, configuring, and testing access control systems, including card readers, remote access software, Automatic Gate Operators and Access Control panels. Support the setup and maintenance of CCTV surveillance cameras. Learn to interpret schematics and technical drawings for system design and troubleshooting purposes. Help with cabling tasks involving low voltage wiring for security systems, telecommunication lines, and power supplies using hand tools and power tools. Conduct routine inspections of security hardware such as locks, sensors, CCTV cameras, and Automatic Vehicle Gate Operators. Participate in field service visits to troubleshoot issues on-site and assist with repairs or upgrades under supervision. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, service reports, and installation logs for client records. Requirements Strong mechanical knowledge with experience using hand tools and power tools for installation tasks. Basic understanding of computer networking concepts related to security systems and remote access software. Familiarity with electrical principles, low voltage wiring techniques, schematics interpretation, and construction environments is preferred. Prior experience as a service technician or in a related field such as Construction or telecommunications is advantageous. Ability to learn quickly about security system components including Automatic Gate Systems, Access Control Systems and CCTV cameras, Good communication skills with an eagerness to develop expertise in system design and troubleshooting. Willingness to work in various environments including construction sites or client locations while adhering to safety protocols.
