A Lead Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing installation, inspections, testing, repairs, and maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and optimal safety for occupants. This role involves leading a team of technicians, mentoring entry level field technicians, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Pay Range:
$38.00/hour

00/hour Lead Fire Alarm Technicians will: Lead and mentor a team of fire alarm service technicians providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and team development Coordinate and manage complex projects, delegating tasks and monitoring resource allocation Act as the primary technical expert, providing troubleshooting and problem-solving for complex system issues Work directly with management to develop and implement service strategies, process improvements, and team performance metrics Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems, to identify and address any issues or deficiencies Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, test results, and any related deficiencies or non-compliance issues observes Inspect, test and evaluate alarm system components Perform maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems Conduct quality assurance checks on team members' work to maintain high standards of service Respond promptly to service calls and emergency requests, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to restore system functionality. Participate in client meetings to discuss large-scale projects, system upgrades, or complex technical issues. Document all service activities accurately and thoroughly, including inspection reports, work orders, and parts usage, and customer notes, using the Service Trade operations platform. Work closely with Deficiency Sellers to provide detailed inspection reports, material needs, and other job-related notes, to prepare and deliver repair estimates in a timely manner Professionally interact with clients to schedule work, discuss inspection findings, address any concerns or questions, and provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvements Work closely with Service Coordinator(s) to optimize work orders, material requisitions, and job scheduling, focusing on efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure the work environment is kept clean and organized.
Lead Fire Alarm Technician Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in fire protection technology or related field preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in fire alarm systems installation, maintenance, and repair in commercial and industrial settings Fire sprinkler system experience strongly preferred NICET Level II certification preferred; NICET Level III highly desirable Comprehensive understanding of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations, including
NFPA 12, NFPA
25, and relevant building and fire codes Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide team members effectively Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and regulatory authorities Proficiency in project management and scheduling software Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Ability to life and carry up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc. Ability to work at heights and in confirmed spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devices Capable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening, and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc.
