Job Description

The Physical Security Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional service, maintenance, and technical support for physical security systems, including access control, video surveillance, video intercom, intrusion detection, and other security devices. This role requires strong technical skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct regular maintenance and service visits to client sites to ensure the optimal performance of physical security systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with access control systems, video surveillance systems, alarms, and related equipment. Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components or equipment as needed. Conduct system upgrades and software updates to improve functionality and security. Provide technical support and assistance to clients via phone, email, or onsite visits. Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other team members to address client needs and concerns promptly and effectively. Document service activities, including maintenance visits, repairs, and upgrades, accurately and thoroughly. Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in physical security systems to provide informed recommendations and solutions to clients. Install and configure physical security systems, including access control systems, video surveillance systems, and related equipment. Mount and secure cameras, sensors, and other security devices in appropriate locations according to design and specifications. Install and connect wiring and cables for power, data, and video transmission. Test and troubleshoot security systems to ensure proper functionality and performance. Provide on-site training and support to clients on the proper use and maintenance of installed security systems. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during installations and maintenance activities. Measures distances accurately to lay out work according to design. Drill holes and bolt metal framework and supports in place. Cut, drill and fit brackets, supports, covers, and fixtures from metal sheet, strap, or bar stock. Bolt and screw control panels and assembled operating units to framework. Pull wiring through conduit. Effectively express oneself in individual or group situations and have the ability to explain technical "jargon" in a manner that non-technical people can easily understand. Handle all situations in a professional manner (i.e., time pressure, task difficulty, customer concerns, deadlines, etc.). Strong attention to detail Daily Responsibilities Follow work schedule requirements and lunch break timing. Attend scheduled team and coordination meetings. Submit daily field activity logs. Turn in signed work orders or scope documents as required for billing. Meet project and departmental performance metrics. Competencies & Skills Strong understanding of physical security infrastructure and best practices. Clear communication skills, both technical and non-technical. Professionalism in high-pressure and customer-facing environments. Attention to detail and pride in workmanship. Takes initiative and seeks continuous improvement. Comfortable in both leadership and team roles. Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Accountability, punctuality, and ownership of assigned responsibilities. Understands business implications and maintains project efficiency. Knowledge, Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Milestone Certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience installing and commissioning physical security systems. Valid driver's license with good driving record. Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical specifications. Ability to perform basic IP network configuration and understand connectivity. Comfortable working with hand and power tools, including scissor lifts. Basic understanding of Windows-based applications, system configuration, and browser-based interfaces. Other Must be willing to drive company vehicles to various client sites on a daily basis. While many projects are local (within 60-mile radius), there will be projects that are beyond 60 miles from Green Bay so overnight travel is required for this position in order to meet specific client deadlines.

From $65,000.00 per year
