RELIABLE

Firewatchers for a temporary assignment at an industrial facility in Washington, WV (28161)

Pay:

$17.00 per hour (weekly pay)

Schedule:

Must be available starting at 7 am and work 10-12 hour shifts

Firewatcher Responsibilities:

Monitor designated work areas during hot work operations (welding, cutting, grinding) Watch for sparks, embers, slag, smoke, or combustible materials Ensure hot work permits are valid and safety requirements are met Verify fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment are accessible and ready Maintain fire watch during work and throughout the required cooldown period Respond immediately to unsafe conditions or fire hazards Communicate with foremen, welders, and safety personnel Document inspections and follow all OSHA and site safety rules Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area

Firewatcher Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and situational awareness Ability to remain alert for extended periods Basic understanding of fire hazards and safety procedures Clear communication skills Ability to stand and monitor work areas for long periods Previous fire watch or industrial experience is a plus but not required.
