This full-time position is designed for individuals eager to learn the art and science of auto body estimating, gain hands-on experience, and grow into a skilled Sales Estimator. You'll train directly with experienced estimators, technicians, painters, insurance partners, and administrative staff to understand and master the entire auto body repair workflow. Knowledge of automotive systems is helpful, but no prior estimating experience is required—your attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn are what matter most! Responsibilities Learn to evaluate vehicle damage and assist with developing accurate repair estimates using industry‑standard software. Assist with writing preliminary estimates, documenting damage, ordering parts, submitting supplement requests, and maintaining organized and accurate repair folders. Communicate repair updates and timelines to customers with support from senior team members. Support billing, financial arrangements, and follow-up on accounts receivable Gain knowledge of insurance claim processes, including DRP and non‑DRP programs; learn how insurance guidelines influence repair strategies, parts choices, and pricing. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, quality, and customer satisfaction Collaborate daily with technicians, painters, production, and office staff to track repair progress and resolve questions. Provide excellent customer service and follow up with clients as needed Attend training sessions and take active steps to develop estimating skills Participate in completion of required certifications (such as I-CAR) and on-the-job training milestones.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Alaska driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation Strong computer proficiency, with exceptional attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer service mindset Proven ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven collision repair environment Positive, professional, and dependable attitude with strong organizational skills Ability to work regular store hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00
PM Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in service, mechanical work, automotive, or customer-facing roles Familiarity with office or shop management software Eagerness to learn and grow within the Sales Estimating role
