In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters, accurately assessing vehicle damage and estimating repair costs. Your expertise will help streamline the repair process, ensure customer satisfaction, and maximize shop efficiency. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to identify all necessary repairs, including auto body work, mechanical repairs, and component replacements. Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates utilizing auto estimating software, ensuring transparency and clarity for customers and insurance companies. Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines, providing excellent customer service throughout the process. Collaborate with technicians and mechanics to coordinate repairs related to transmissions, suspensions, alignments, brakes, shocks & struts, tire services, diesel engine repairs, air brakes, and other automotive systems. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, wheel alignments, or vehicle maintenance packages to enhance customer value while meeting shop revenue goals. Manage all service writing tasks efficiently while maintaining proper documentation of vehicle repairs and estimates. Handle cash transactions accurately when applicable and ensure all records are maintained in compliance with shop policies. Skills Proven dealership experience with a solid understanding of auto service management and automotive diagnostics. Strong mechanical knowledge across various automotive systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, oil changes, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, and air brakes. Experience in auto estimating software and service writing with a focus on accuracy and clarity. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Familiarity with automobile sales processes and cash handling procedures is a plus. Knowledge of automotive repair processes including auto body repair work is highly desirable.
