POSITION OVERVIEW
Appearance Solutions is looking for a Paint Protection Film ("PPF") Technician Apprentice to join our team. As a PPF Technician Apprentice , your journey starts as a Detail Technician Level I, where you'll develop critical skills in vehicle preparation, surface evaluation, and care. After one year in this foundational role, apprentices who demonstrate proficiency, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic will transition into our comprehensive PPF training program. Working under supervision, you will follow our company's standard operating procedures to ensure that every task meets our standards. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, high level of manual dexterity, willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in automotive care. We specialize in protecting and enhancing vehicles with expert services, including Paint Protection Film (Clear Bra), Ceramic Coatings, and Ceramic Window Tinting. We have been serving the Sacramento area since 2001. We take great pride in the quality of our work and our clients hold us to the highest standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Phase 1: Detail Technician Level I Learn the basics of surface inspection and correction techniques. Visually inspect every vehicle for any noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and/or poor mechanical operation; report any issues and/or concerns to management. Perform high-quality vehicle washing, decontamination, and preparation for protective services. Deliver high-quality exterior and interior detailing services. Clean and vacuum vehicle interiors, including seats, carpets, and dashboards. Apply tire shine and clean windows. Learn proper techniques through observation and support of Detail Manager and Detail Technician II. Assist Detail Manager and Detail Technician II with paint correction and polishing tasks by preparing vehicles, taping off sensitive areas, maintaining a clean workspace, and handling polishing pads, compounds, and other materials as directed. Develop an understanding of tools, materials, and techniques used in PPF application. Assist with surface preparation for PPF and ceramic coating applications. Assist Tint Department when necessary. Maintain cleanliness of the wash bay and ensure tools are organized. Handle general cleaning duties around the shop, including emptying trash and recycling. Complete shop errands when needed. Follow company safety and cleaning protocols. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Appearance Solutions' core values in all interactions with co-workers, visitors and customers. Phase 2: PPF Technician Apprentice Learn and practice PPF installation techniques, including cutting, stretching, and applying film. Assist in full front-end and full-body PPF installations under supervision. Gain expertise in working with different PPF materials and adhesives. Ensure vehicles meet quality standards before delivery to clients.REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. At least 18 years old, and authorized to work in the U.S. Valid driver's license (must have a clean DMV record and reliable transportation). No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided. Basic understanding of vehicle cleaning products and equipment (preferred). Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions. Works well independently and as part of a team. Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and motivation to develop new skills. Willing to work late and/or come in early to meet client expectations and deadlines. Hourly Rate:
DOE ( up to $23/hr) Discretionary bonuses based on performanceADDITIONAL INFORMATION
