Full Job Description Job Overview :

Governors Auto Body Inc., a well-established auto repair shop in East Hartford, CT, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Autobody Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in estimating repair costs for vehicles involved in collisions, ensuring our clients receive accurate and timely assessments. You'll work directly with our customers, insurance adjusters, and technicians to ensure that vehicles are repaired efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Inspect and assess vehicles to determine the scope of damage and needed repairs. Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates, including labor, parts, and paint costs. Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process and provide transparent estimates. Work closely with insurance companies to ensure accurate claims processing and repairs. Maintain detailed records of estimates, repair progress, and customer communication. Collaborate with the body shop technicians and management to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs. Stay updated on industry trends, repair techniques, and estimating software to improve efficiency. Assist in ordering parts, scheduling repairs, and ensuring vehicles are completed within the promised time frame. Handle customer inquiries and concerns, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.

Qualifications :

Proven experience as an autobody estimator or in a similar automotive repair role. Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, including structural, mechanical, and paint repairs. Experience with estimating software such as Mitchell, Audatex, or CCC ONE . Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, technical specifications, and auto parts catalogs. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certification or industry-related training is a plus.

Preferred Skills :

Experience working with insurance claims and handling insurance-related paperwork. Ability to work with computerized estimating tools and diagnostic software. Knowledge of the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
