Full Job Description Job Title:
Entry-Level Paint & Body Prep Technician Location:
Jensen Beach, FL Job Type:
Full-Time |
Entry Level Pay:
$15-$25/hr based on reliability, skill, and growth potential
Hours:
40 hours/week | Overtime available | Paid holidays after 6 months | Paid vacation after 1 year About the Opportunity Kiddy's Classics is a specialty automotive restoration company focused on traditional coachworks, body refinement, and refinishing of classic vehicles. We are not a production shop, and we are not built around shortcuts. Our work is deliberate, detail-driven, and held to a high standard. The prep process is where that standard is built or broken. We are looking for someone entry-level who wants to learn real craftsmanship, build valuable skills, and be part of work they can take pride in. You do not need years of experience. We hire for character, work ethic, and attitude — then train for skill. If you are dependable, willing to work hard, hold yourself and your efforts to a high standard, and find careless work unacceptable, you may be exactly who we are looking for. What You Will Do Surface Preparation & Coating Prep
  • Prepare panels for epoxy, primer, and paint stages
  • Clean panels using wax and grease remover and prep products
  • Mask vehicles and parts for coating application
  • Learn blocking and surface correction techniques as skills develop — this is foundational work, not a side task Inspection & Quality Control
  • Identify rust, chips, dents, and surface flaws before work advances — if something is not right, you are expected to see it before it moves forward
  • Develop the eye that experienced craftsmen use to read a surface properly
  • Help maintain the shop quality standard at every stage Stripping & Media Blasting
  • Strip panels and undercoating
  • Prepare parts for blasting
  • Operate blasting equipment as trained Shop Flow & Organization
  • Label parts and track components through the build process
  • Keep tools and workspaces clean and organized
  • Assist with vehicle detailing, moving equipment, and general shop support What We Are Looking For
  • Dependable and on time
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willing to take direction and learn without ego
  • Good attention to detail
  • Pride in doing things correctly
  • Comfortable with physical work: standing, lifting, repetitive motion
  • Team mentality — no drama, no passengers
  • Desire to build your own tools and skills over time No prior experience required.
Shop, detailing, construction, trade, or hands-on experience is a plus. Growth Opportunity This is not meant to be a dead-end helper position. The right person can grow into higher-level prep, coatings support, blocking, paint assistance, restoration workflow responsibility, and skilled bodywork roles over time. How fast you grow depends on how seriously you take the opportunity. What This Is Not This is not a casual paycheck job. The vehicles here matter deeply to their owners. Every task affects the final result. If you want to drift through the day, cut corners, or be managed constantly, this is not the place. If you want to learn a real trade, develop standards, and be proud of what your hands helped build — apply. To Apply Send your resume and a short note explaining why this kind of work interests you.
