Job Description
Job Summary / Objective Job Summary / Objective Independently performs body repair and surface preparation on marine tower products. Responsible for ensuring smooth, paint-ready finishes while adhering to safety and quality standards. Provides guidance to entry-level technicians. Essential Job Functions and Duties Independently applies fillers, sands, and preps surfaces to tight tolerances. Identifies and corrects imperfections without direct supervision. Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints, and instructions. Trains and supports Body Tech I employees on basic techniques. Ensures work areas remain organized, safe, and compliant with standards. May assist in small repair or touch-up paint prep. Completes assigned work with minimal rework needed. Education and Experience 3-5 years body experience in manufacturing (automotive or marine industry preferred). Demonstrated ability to complete prep work with quality results. Work Schedule / Travel This position schedule is 6AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Thursday Additional overtime required depending on manufacturing needs Post Offer Background check and drug screening may be required Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is: Office Environment - ability to use computers and office equipment, light lifting and other physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions. Must be able to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs. of force Must be able to grip fine contacts and wires with one hand and operate crimping tool with the other hand Must be able to see fine components and have manual dexterity to properly place and solder these components. Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. for at least 15 feet. Safety Glasses must be worn at all times when in certain production areas. Enclosed non-skid shoes must be worn at all times when in the production areas. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses may be required and worn.
