In this energetic position, you will conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to verify compliance with emissions regulations, helping to reduce pollution and promote cleaner air. Your expertise will support community health initiatives while providing a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills in vehicle assessment and environmental safety. Responsibilities Perform detailed emissions testing on a variety of vehicle types using specialized diagnostic equipment and hand tools. Inspect vehicle components related to emissions systems, including exhaust, catalytic converters, and sensors, ensuring proper function and compliance. Utilize power tools and automotive repair techniques to diagnose issues and assist with minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Document inspection results accurately, prepare reports, and communicate findings clearly to vehicle owners or regulatory agencies. Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks, including auto body repairs or restoration projects, when necessary to support overall inspection processes. Lift heavy vehicles or parts safely during inspections or repairs, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and calibrated. Requirements Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair, auto body work, or vehicle maintenance. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment essential for emissions testing. Prior mechanic experience or auto restoration background preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively during inspections or repairs. Knowledge of automotive service standards and emissions regulations is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow technical procedures precisely. Strong communication skills for documenting findings and interacting professionally with customers and team members.
