Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Autobody Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in both solvent-based and waterborne paint systems. You must be passionate about achieving perfect color matches and high-quality finishes on every vehicle. This role requires precision, cleanliness, and a commitment to delivering showroom-quality results. Key Responsibilities Prepare vehicles for painting, including masking, sanding, and surface preparation. Apply primer, basecoat, and clear coat using both solvent and waterborne paint systems. Perform accurate color matching using spectrophotometers, color chips, and advanced blending techniques to ensure seamless repairs. Mix, adjust, and apply paints to achieve consistent color, texture, and finish. Utilize proper spraying techniques, tools, and equipment to deliver flawless results every time. Inspect finished work for defects and perform any necessary buffing, polishing, or touch-ups. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (booth, tools, and equipment). Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and hazardous material handling. Work efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and attention to detail. Requirements Minimum 3-5 years of professional autobody painting experience. Proven experience with both solvent-based and waterborne paint systems . Strong skills in color matching and color theory using modern tools and techniques. Ability to consistently produce high-quality, defect-free finishes. Extremely clean and detail-oriented work habits. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications I-CAR certification (strongly preferred). Experience with premium paint brands (PPG, Sherwin-Williams, Axalta, etc.). Knowledge of modern vehicle refinishing materials and processes. ASE or other industry certifications a plus. What We're Looking For The right candidate is meticulous, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and understands that "good enough" is never acceptable. You must be reliable, able to work independently or as part of a team, and committed to customer satisfaction through superior paint quality.
