Job Description

Job Summary Body Technician is responsible for making repairs to all assigned vehicles, restoring them to pre- accident condition in accordance with safety/ OSHA guidelines and use required safety. Duties/ Responsibilities Examine/repair damaged vehicles using technical information in accordance with repair orders. Makes "repair or replace" decisions concerning safety , cost and cycle time Perform structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement and some mechanical works Perform different type of sheet metal welding and metal finishing File, Grind and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools. Work with manager and estimators on the vehicle repair status (including supplements) Make decisions on repair vs replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time Cautiously remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle and fenders File, grind, sand repaired surfaces, use of power tools and hand tools Meets or exceeds requirements for tech efficiency , cycle time(to keep vehicles on schedule for on -time delivery Keep personal work area organized and clean, returns tools and maintains parts/ material cars in an organized manner Performed assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner that does not expose yourself other employees to unnecessary risk of injury Inspect and test all mechanical/ body repairs to meet manufacturer's specifications. Road test vehicles when required. Attend daily release meetings Qualifications Auto body collision repair experience required High school diploma/ GED required I-CAR certification or ASE training required I-CAR welding and ADE structural (B4) certification are strongly preferred. Experience using frame and measuring equipment Ability to work independently and in a team environment Highly organized , able to handle multiple concurrent assignments Valid driver's license and insurable driving record Must Provide own tools (in working order) Physical Requirements Ability to stoop , bend and kneel, squat, kneel and pulling Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stopping Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs) Manual dexterity and eye/ hand coordination to operate equipment Standing, sitting and walking Performing repetitive motions. Work Environment Employee understands exposure to: Paint, fumes and particles dirt/dust chemicals/ toxins Varying heat/ cold Intermittent noise
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
