Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair and restoration, with experience working in a dealership environment. This position requires proficiency in various techniques and tools used in the automotive repair industry, including MIG welding, fabrication, and detailing. The Auto Body Technician will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition while ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Perform auto body repairs on vehicles, including frame straightening, panel replacement, and paint refinishing. Utilize MIG welding and fabrication skills to repair or replace damaged parts. Conduct vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure proper functionality. Use hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment effectively. Execute auto glass replacement and repairs as needed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating with clients about repair processes and timelines. Estimate repair costs accurately using auto estimating techniques. Carry out heavy lifting tasks as required during the repair process. Maintain a clean and organized work area to uphold safety standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality results.
Job Requirements:
5 plus years of auto-body collision experience preferred Complete disassembly of the vehicle to assist estimators in assessing damage to prepare a 100% repair plan Document and record additional damage and required parts on a damage report (including blend panels, small parts, on-time use fasteners, moldings, etc.). Notify the production manager/estimator regarding supplements based on additional damage/parts discovered Assist the metal technician with reassembly upon completion of the repair, as needed Perform light non-structural repairs - light finishing, sanding, minor bumper repairs, etc. Reassemble vehicle - replace final moldings, trim, and detail pieces Perform assigned duties safely and responsibly that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury knowledge of structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement, and some mechanical work preferred Utilize all required safety equipment, follow proper repair procedures, and adhere to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal Keep personal work area organized and clean, return tools, and maintain parts/materials carts in an organized manner Other duties as assigned Follow the company blueprinting process and disassembly procedures (DFR) for all vehicle inspections Disassemble vehicles after the initial estimate, inspect all vehicles for internal structure and parts from the initial inspection (estimate), and identify additional damage ICAR and OEM training preferred Must be at least 18 years of age HS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification strongly preferred Ability to effectively communicate with others Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work orders Multi-tasking; adapt quickly to the fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
