Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Body Shop Assistant to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this role, you will support the body shop operations by assisting with vehicle repairs, fabrication, and finishing tasks to ensure high-quality service delivery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in auto body repair, welding, and vehicle restoration while working in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Your contributions will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our shop. Duties Assist with auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and sheet metal work using hand tools and power tools Support welding tasks such as MIG welding, soldering, and other fabrication processes to restore vehicle structures Prepare vehicles for painting through sanding, masking, and detailing to ensure a flawless finish Help with auto glass replacement and auto painting, including airless paint spraying techniques for efficient coverage Perform basic mechanical tasks like vehicle maintenance, assembly, and heavy lifting to facilitate repair workflows Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling tools and disposing of waste materials Collaborate with technicians on auto restoration projects and assist in auto estimating procedures when needed Experience Previous dealership or automotive repair shop experience is highly preferred Hands-on experience with MIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, and auto body repair techniques Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and familiarity with auto painting processes such as airless paint spraying Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely and effectively Knowledge of auto glass installation, soldering, auto restoration projects, and auto estimating is a plus Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members Experience with automotive repair or mechanic work is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
