Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Auto Body Prep Technician to join our fast-paced and growing auto body shop. This role requires efficiency, precision, and the ability to keep up with a high-volume workflow while maintaining top-quality standards. As our shop continues to grow, this position offers long-term stability and opportunities to grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Disassemble vehicle components prior to body repair and paint (bumpers, trim, lights, moldings, panels, etc.) Reassemble all vehicle parts accurately after repairs and paint are completed Sand and prepare vehicle surfaces for primer and paint application Apply primer as needed and block sand for smooth, straight finishes Mask vehicles and protect adjacent areas during preparation Inspect completed work to ensure proper fitment, finish, and overall quality Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow shop safety procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines Work efficiently in a high-production environment without sacrificing quality
Qualifications:
Previous experience in auto body prep, assembly, and disassembly preferred Strong knowledge of sanding techniques, primers, and buffing processes Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting Strong attention to detail and quality Dependable, punctual, and motivated Valid driver's license preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move vehicle parts and equipment Comfortable using hand and power tools
