Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as a Body Shop Estimator and become the key player in delivering exceptional customer service and accurate vehicle assessments. In this vital role, you will evaluate collision damage, prepare detailed repair estimates, and coordinate with technicians and insurance companies to ensure seamless repairs. Your expertise will help customers navigate their repair journey confidently while supporting our commitment to quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess collision and repair needs, including auto body repair, mechanical issues, transmissions, suspension, brakes, tires, oil changes, alignments, shocks & struts, air brakes, diesel engine repairs, and more. Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software; clearly communicate findings to customers and insurance adjusters. Collaborate with technicians and shop staff to develop efficient repair plans that meet quality standards and customer expectations. Assist customers by explaining repair procedures, costs, and timelines; provide excellent customer service throughout the entire process. Upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance or upgrades when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue. Manage administrative tasks including documenting estimates, processing paperwork, handling cash transactions when necessary, and maintaining detailed records of all repairs and communications. Coordinate with insurance companies for claims processing and ensure all documentation complies with industry standards. Requirements Proven experience in dealership auto service management or auto estimating; familiarity with automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle maintenance is essential. Strong background in automotive repair including body work, transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, diesel engine repairs, and related fields. Prior experience as a service technician or in auto service writing is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Knowledge of upselling techniques to recommend additional services confidently while maintaining integrity. Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory; a passion for automotive sales and automobile knowledge is a plus. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain organized records efficiently.
