Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Body Shop Estimator to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair, automotive diagnostics, and service writing, with the ability to accurately assess vehicle damage and provide detailed estimates. This role involves working closely with customers, insurance adjusters, and technicians to ensure efficient repairs and excellent customer satisfaction. Prior dealership experience and auto service management skills are highly valued for this position. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of repairs needed. Prepare detailed repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software. Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines. Collaborate with technicians and mechanics to coordinate repair processes and ensure quality standards are met. Assist customers with insurance claims processes and provide updates on vehicle status. Upsell additional services such as alignments, tire services, or mechanical repairs when appropriate. Manage service writing tasks, including documenting repairs and maintaining accurate records. Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently. Maintain knowledge of current automotive repair techniques, including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and other mechanical services. Skills Proven dealership experience or extensive auto body repair background. Strong automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge. Experience in auto estimating, service writing, and auto service management. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Ability to upsell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity. Mechanical aptitude combined with a professional attitude focused on quality service delivery.
