Hardware Installer - Vehicle ElectronicsPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Hardware Installer specializing in 12-volt vehicle electronics to install, configure, and test electrical hardware in cars, trucks, and fleet vehicles. The role focuses on reliable, safe installations of power systems and vehicle electronics to support telematics, safety, and accessory systems. The ideal candidate delivers high-quality workmanship, follows wiring schematics and manufacturer instructions, troubleshoots electrical issues, and provides excellent customer communication onsite or in the shop.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform professional installations of 12-volt vehicle electrical systems and related hardware in cars, trucks, vans, and fleet vehicles.
Mount, wire, and connect vehicle electronics components, ensuring secure and clean installations that meet manufacturer and company standards.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation manuals to plan routing and connections.
Test and validate installations using multimeters and diagnostic tools; troubleshoot and resolve electrical and connectivity issues.
Install and configure telematics and accessory devices, including power distribution, switches, relays, and grounding.
Document work performed, complete service reports, and update inventory and job tracking systems.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety protocols for handling electrical systems and batteries.
Communicate clearly with customers and dispatch to explain work performed, obtain approvals, and provide basic operation guidance.
Manage parts, tools, and inventory for assigned jobs; report supply needs and damaged components.
Support periodic vehicle inspections, warranty repairs, and follow-up service calls as needed.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate in electronics or automotive electrical systems preferred.
Hands-on experience installing 12-volt and vehicle electronics in automotive or fleet environments.
Proven proficiency with 12-volt systems, wiring, connectors, fuses, relays, and battery systems.
Strong ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation manuals.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to customer sites or between shop locations.
Good problem-solving skills and experience troubleshooting electrical faults and intermittent issues.

experience with GPS installation and camera installation (dashcams, backup cameras, multi-camera systems).Preferred:
