Can-Am Telematics is searching for a part-time Telematics Installer to join our team in the Cedar Park, TX market. We're seeking a part-time (with opportunity to move to full time as business grows) Telematics Installer who loves a challenge and wants the opportunity to grow with a fast-paced company. Primary Responsibilities for a Telematics Installer
- Install our telematics system and devices on vehicles, construction equipment and heavy equipment
- Confidently remove and replace OBD2 connector with our Geotab OBD2 harness
- Confidently install vehicle dashcam, and auxiliary external camera
- Work through a variety of installation scenarios ranging from basic (power, ignition, ground) to complex (requiring custom wiring harnesses when accessing the CAN network of both vehicles and equipment)
- Identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information and develop alternative solutions if required
- Travel to client sites throughout the region for installation cases
- Serve as an advocate for the Geotab platform of solutions and brand while on the job and in the field We are looking for someone with availability to work on part-time bases, driving company installation vehicle. Skills & Qualifications for a Telematics Installer
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Mechanical aptitude, good with your hands and with tools.
- Hard-working, eager to learn and mechanically inclined lends to a good fit
- Experience in a related field, e.g., electrician, HVAC tech, car audio installer, etc.
- Prior experience in the telematics industry is not necessary; we will train you
- Tools will be provided
- Hard worker with excellent attention to detail
- Clean driving record and be able to pass a background check
- Open to traveling within a 250-mile radius of our local branch with the company vehicle.
