Job Description:
As a Lead, Auto Glass Technician at Glass America, you will leverage your advanced technical skills and leadership experience to guide a team of technicians while delivering exceptional auto glass installation, repair and calibration services. This role involves overseeing complex repairs, mentoring team members, ensuring quality and safety standards, and serving as a trusted resource for troubleshooting and training. You'll collaborate with local management to optimize operations and uphold a high standard of customer service, all while supporting Glass America's mission to be the best in the industry. Key Job Responsibilities Perform and oversee complex auto glass installations, repairs and forward-facing camera calibrations (static and dynamic) to OE and industry standards, both in-shop and mobile. Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and hands-on training to team members to improve efficiency and maintain a safety-first environment Lead daily work operations by setting the pace, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met or exceeded Collaborate with local management to monitor workflow, optimize job scheduling, and resolve customer or operational issues as they arise. Maintain expert-level knowledge of tools, adhesives, calibration systems, and OE procedures Conduct pre- and post-scans, interpret scan data accurately, and guide others in doing the same Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all required documentation, including calibrations, deposits, and customer paperwork Act as a brand ambassador by leading with professionalism and delivering outstanding customer service to support Glass America's mission to Be the Best Minimum Education and/or Experience Required for the Job 7+ years of hands-on auto glass installation experience with a demonstrated ability to manage complex repairs and calibrations Advanced knowledge of OE calibration systems and procedures; experience with both static and dynamic calibrations Previous mentoring or leadership experience preferred Proven ability to work independently while supporting and elevating team performance Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Must be efficient in the removal and reinstallation of fixed glass Must have a current certification with AGRSS, Dupont, and successfully passed the Glass America Certification Exam Ensure all Glass America Technicians are wearing the correct PPE. Provide PPE to Technicians if needed Lead Technician should also work with the Glass America Training Team to ensure all technician certifications are up to date and new technicians complete their required certifications in a timely manner Please note, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
