Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing various types of glass in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires precision, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Glass Installation:
Measure, cut, and install glass for windows, doors, mirrors, tabletops, shower enclosures, and other structures.
Glass Repair:
Assess damage, remove broken or cracked glass, and replace it with new materials while ensuring proper alignment and fit.
Customization:
Design and fabricate custom glass pieces as per client specifications, using tools and techniques like cutting, polishing, and shaping.
Safety Standards:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during installation, handling, and transportation of glass to minimize risk.
Client Interaction:
Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide guidance on glass selection and maintenance.
Tools and Equipment:
Operate and maintain tools such as glass cutters, drills, grinders, and suction cups to ensure efficient operations.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve installation issues, ensuring that all glass components are secure, watertight, and aesthetically pleasing.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and project timelines.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience as a glazier or in a related field is preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, excellent measurement skills, and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy glass panes, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with different types of glass, hardware, and installation techniques.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in glazing is a plus.
Valid Drivers License Key Competencies:
Strong problem-solving abilities. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
May involve working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Requires wearing appropriate safety gear, including gloves, goggles, and steel-toed boots. Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be necessary based on project demands.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
