Job Description

Locally owned for more than 40 years, Southland Transportation Group has over 240 employees in Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, Homewood and Birmingham Alabama. The ideal candidate is a leader who can successfully develop and manage a diverse team with expertise in inventory control, team development and P&L management. You will solve customer problems while providing exceptional service and help develop new business opportunities.
Responsibilities Job Description:
Hire, manager, supervise and monitor the performance of department personnel including technical personnel and advisors. Provide training on administrative policies and procedures. Encourage technical personnel to keep their skills current through training on new systems and components offered by manufacturer. Manage profitability of department, including controlling expenses Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional work ethic Self- Motivated; team leader Provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Valid Driver's License 3 + years management experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience Experience in Commercial Transportation Industry Experience in Automotive/ Heavy Duty Transportation Equipment Industry Management experience in the Automotive/Heavy Duty Transportation Equipment Industry Experience leading/managing a team including hiring, training, motivating, etc. Strong problem-solving skills Driven personality, eager to improve and able to work well under pressure. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
