Job Description
As a Truck Body & Paint Technician at Iron-Vac Trucks, you will be responsible for preparing, repairing, and painting custom septic and vacuum trucks and related components. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, involving sanding, body prep, masking, painting, finishing, and assisting with final cosmetic assembly on medium- and heavy-duty truck builds. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in clean finishes, and values quality craftsmanship that becomes part of real-world equipment used nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare truck bodies, tanks, and components for paint Sand, grind, mask, and prep surfaces for finishing Apply primer, paint, and protective coatings to trucks and components Perform body repair work including filler, smoothing, and surface correction Inspect painted surfaces for quality, consistency, and finish standards Assist with paint booth setup, cleanup, and material preparation Maintain paint equipment, spray guns, and work areas Follow safety procedures related to paint materials and shop equipment Work closely with fabricators, assemblers, and production leads to meet build schedules Wash, clean, and detail trucks for deliveryQualifications:
Required:
Experience with bodywork, painting, sanding, or surface preparation Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Ability to safely operate shop tools and paint equipment Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical work Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred:
Experience with automotive, industrial, or heavy equipment painting Experience using spray guns and paint booth equipment Body filler and surface finishing experience Experience working in manufacturing, truck shops, or body shops Basic mechanical or assembly experienceWhat We Offer:
