We are looking for someone who is fairly confident working on their own, willing to keep learning, and ready to grow with the business. This position is a great fit for a technician who has solid hands-on experience, can complete common repairs and maintenance, and wants to continue building their skills with support from an experienced A Technician. The ideal candidate should be able to diagnose and repair many general automotive issues, follow instructions, stay organized, and take pride in clean, quality work. This role will support our A Technician with larger or more advanced jobs while also handling regular maintenance and repair work independently. Responsibilities Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, brakes, suspension, steering, belts, hoses, filters, batteries, fluids, and basic electrical repairs. Diagnose and repair common vehicle issues using scan tools, visual inspections, test drives, and service information. Support the A Technician with more advanced diagnostics, larger repair jobs, inspections, and vehicle tear-down or reassembly when needed. Complete work accurately and efficiently while following shop procedures and safety guidelines. Perform courtesy inspections and document vehicle concerns clearly. Communicate findings to the service writer or management in a clear and professional way. Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely. Keep your work area clean and organized. Help clean the shop between jobs, including sweeping, putting tools away, organizing parts, and keeping bays ready for the next vehicle. Be willing to learn new repair procedures, diagnostic methods, and shop systems as the business grows. Qualifications Previous automotive repair experience required. Must be able to perform common maintenance and repair jobs without constant supervision. Basic diagnostic ability with scan tools and service information. Strong understanding of brakes, steering, suspension, fluids, maintenance services, and general mechanical repairs. Basic electrical knowledge is preferred. Must have your own basic tools. Valid driver's license required. Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. Must be open to learning from more experienced technicians. Must be willing to help with cleaning and shop upkeep between jobs. ASE certifications are a plus, but not required. Experience with multiple makes and models is a plus. What We Are Looking For We are not just looking for someone who can turn wrenches. We want someone who takes pride in their work, wants to improve, and understands that a good shop runs on teamwork. Some days you may be doing brakes and maintenance. Other days you may be helping the A Technician with a bigger job, checking over vehicles, cleaning up between repairs, or learning a new process. The right person will be reliable, teachable, honest, and able to work independently while still being part of the team.
