Job Description

FLEET SERVICES SUPERVISOR
Summary Under the direction of the Fleet and Facilities Manager this position coordinates, supervises, implements and evaluates the Fleet and Facility Services Division activities and supervises skilled and semi-skilled staff that service and repair the City's fleet vehicles and equipment used for public safety, public works, transportation, and emergency operations and other activities including fabrication and welding, as well as developing vehicle specifications and overseeing work performed by vendors and contractors. Minimum Requirements Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be High school graduation or equivalent with coursework, training and/or work experience in supervision and five (5) years of experience as a journey-level Mechanic, including two (2) years of supervisory experience. Heavy-duty and alternative fuels experience is desirable.

$8,741.20 - $10,668.67

ELECTRONIC FLEET SERVICES TECHNICIAN
Summary This position performs skilled journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic and computerized vehicle systems and equipment including but not limited to advanced vehicle management control systems, voice and data communication equipment, digital camera and recording systems, and farebox equipment and systems. The selected candidates are expected to independently perform the full range of electronic and computerized vehicle systems maintenance, repair, and service activities on the City's entire complement of motorized equipment. Minimum Requirements -
Education and Experience:
High school graduation or equivalent. An Associate of Science degree or equivalent college level course work in Electronics Technology, Electronics Communication, Radio Communications or related field is desirable. Three (3) years of recent, paid journey-level work experience performing installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of electronic communications equipment, fare boxes, two-way radios or analog and digital equipment.

$6,682.00 - $8,155.33

SENIOR FLEET SERVICES TECHNICIAN
Summary Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on motorized and non-motorized vehicles and equipment using analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts, and factory manuals for all types of diesel and gasoline powered vehicles. Troubleshoots and repairs all electrical problems, including complete diagnosis of electronic and computer controlled systems. Reads and understands vehicle maintenance manuals and appropriate electrical schematics including computer flow charts and graphs. Minimum Requirements -
Training and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Completion of high school, and Three (3) years of journey level experience repairing and maintaining a variety of light, medium, and heavy motorized equipment, experience with alternative fuels is desirable.
Salary:
$6,075.33 - $7,413.47
