Responsibilities Conduct thorough smog inspections on a wide range of vehicle makes and models, ensuring compliance with state and federal emissions standards. Perform detailed vehicle diagnostics to identify issues affecting emissions and overall vehicle health. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to repair or replace faulty components related to emissions systems and vehicle mechanics. Assist in vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, and auto body repairs when needed. Handle heavy lifting safely during repairs or parts replacement to support efficient workflow. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts used for each vehicle processed. Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and adhere to safety protocols at all times. Qualifications Proven experience in automotive repair or auto mechanic work, with a strong understanding of vehicle systems. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools. Familiarity with automotive service procedures, auto body repair, and auto restoration techniques is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or maintenance tasks. Prior experience working as a smog technician or in vehicle emissions testing is highly desirable.
