Fremont, CA Job Details Full-time $40 - $55 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications ADAS Teamwork Equipment repair Mentoring Dealership experience Full Job Description Job Overview
WE'RE BUSY. WE HAVE PLENTY OF WORK.
Senior Automotive Technician / Team Leader If you're a skilled technician looking for a shop where your experience truly matters, we'd like to meet you. At Apex Cars, we're not just hiring a technician—we're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our team. Unlike most repair shops, we don't rely on customer work to keep our technicians busy. Our dealership inventory provides a steady workload year-round, so there's no shortage of work for the right technician. We're looking for an experienced technician who enjoys solving difficult problems, working on a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles, and helping make the entire shop more productive. Someone who sees themselves as a leader, values independent thinking, and enjoys helping others succeed. We take pride in selling quality vehicles, so we appreciate technicians who believe in doing the job right the first time, mentoring others, and taking pride in their work. Quality comes before shortcuts. We'd rather do it right once than do it twice. Honestly—we're not a brand-new dealership with polished floors or every new piece of equipment on the market. Our shop is established, busy, and carrying more work than we have qualified people to handle. If you're looking for a flashy workplace, we may not be the right fit. If you've reached a point in your career where you'd rather be respected than micromanaged, and where your knowledge is valued as much as your productivity, this position may be exactly what you're looking for. We treat our employees with respect, appreciate their contributions, and work hard to create a positive, productive environment where good people can build long-term careers. Teamwork is a core value at Apex. Many of the best technicians enjoy passing their knowledge on to the next generation. If you've been mentoring an apprentice, family member, or longtime assistant, we would also welcome the opportunity to discuss bringing your team to Apex. There's room here to grow, and we believe investing in the next generation of technicians is one of the best ways to build a successful shop. Competitive pay, steady work, job security, and long-term opportunity for the right person—or the right team. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including engines, powertrains, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical components. Conduct specialized repairs on a variety of makes and models Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical problems effectively. Perform wheel alignments and vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements. Stay current with industry advancements such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology and incorporate these into repair procedures. Maintain detailed repair records and communicate clearly with customers about repair needs and timelines. Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols during all mechanical repair activities while managing manual handling tasks responsibly. Experience Proven dealership experience or extensive background working on a variety of vehicle makes and models. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair procedures. Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and electronic control modules (ECMs). Experience with general automotive engine system repairs. Prior work involving ADAS calibration or integration is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients. Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics accurately and work efficiently within a team environment.
