Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Truck Trailer Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trailers that keep the transportation industry moving forward! In this energetic role, you will leverage your mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, service, and repair a wide range of commercial trailer equipment. Your skills will ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet, supporting efficient logistics operations across various industries. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on commercial truck trailers, including air brake systems, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical components. Repair and replace critical trailer parts such as shocks & struts, axles, wheels, tires, brakes, transmissions, and HVAC systems. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately troubleshoot issues using automotive diagnostics tools and power tools. Conduct fabrication tasks including welding, assembly, and modifications to trailers or heavy equipment as needed. Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and other industrial equipment safely to facilitate repairs or parts movement. Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed in compliance with safety standards. Assist with preventive maintenance routines to ensure trailers meet safety regulations and industry standards. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy-duty vehicles or trailers; dealership experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles including diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brakes, alignment, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and diagnostic software. Ability to read and interpret schematics for complex mechanical and electrical systems. Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators or cranes; certification is preferred. Familiarity with farm machinery or industrial equipment maintenance is a plus. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions safely.
