Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Smog Technician, where you will play a vital role in ensuring vehicles meet environmental standards through precise emissions testing and repairs. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of automotive systems, utilizing your mechanical expertise to help customers pass state-mandated emissions inspections. Duties Perform comprehensive emissions tests on a wide range of vehicles using specialized diagnostic equipment. Identify and diagnose issues related to vehicle emissions systems, including catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, and exhaust components. Conduct necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure vehicles meet all smog and environmental regulations. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair techniques to perform maintenance and repairs efficiently. Assist customers by explaining test results, repair options, and vehicle maintenance needs clearly and professionally. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and test results in compliance with state regulations. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all testing procedures and vehicle handling activities. Experience Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or auto body work. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures and auto restoration projects. Experience working with automotive service equipment, including diagnostic tools and emission testing devices. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely and effectively. Previous mechanic experience or certification in automotive repair is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot complex vehicle issues related to emissions systems. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or walking during inspections. Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
