Long Beach, CA Job Details Part-time | Contract $22 - $24 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Mechanical assembly Mechanic experience Metal fabrication Plasma cutting Alignment Cleaning Welding Full Job Description About NSTY Fab Co NSTY Fab Co is a rapidly growing custom fabrication and performance shop based in Long Beach, California, specializing in high-end custom truck builds, suspension fabrication, chassis modifications, and complete vehicle transformations. Our projects range from street trucks and show builds to prerunner and off-road fabrication. We handle everything from custom suspension systems, short bed conversions, frame modifications, drivetrain swaps, steering systems, custom chassis work, and one-off fabricated components to full installation of aftermarket performance kits. We are not a production-line shop. Every project is different and requires problem solving, adaptability, mechanical knowledge, and attention to detail. We are building a company focused on quality craftsmanship, efficient operations, and continuous growth. We are looking for motivated and capable technicians who want to grow within the custom automotive industry and be part of building high-level custom projects. Position Overview NSTY Fab Co is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician / Builder to assist with the assembly, modification, fabrication support, and overall execution of custom vehicle builds. This role will focus heavily on: Vehicle disassembly and reassembly Installation of aftermarket parts and performance kits Supporting fabrication projects through prep work and assembly General mechanical work and troubleshooting Maintaining organization and efficiency throughout projects The ideal candidate already has strong mechanical experience and is comfortable working on vehicles independently with minimal supervision. While custom fabrication and aftermarket processes can be taught, candidates are expected to already have solid shop experience, strong mechanical competency, and the ability to work efficiently in a professional automotive environment. Experience with aftermarket modifications, performance vehicles, off-road trucks, race vehicles, restorations, or custom builds is highly preferred. Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Disassembly & Reassembly Properly disassemble client vehicles for fabrication and modification work Organize, label, and maintain hardware and components during teardown Reassemble vehicles accurately and professionally after fabrication or modification work is completed Verify fitment, function, and overall quality during final assembly Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the build process Parts & Kit Installation Install aftermarket suspension systems, steering systems, drivetrain components, and performance parts Assist with installation of: Lift kits Lowering kits Coilover systems Suspension components Steering upgrades Brake systems Off-road components Drivetrain upgrades Bolt-on performance parts Perform modifications and adjustments required for aftermarket fitment Troubleshoot fitment and installation issues when necessary Fabrication Support & Shop Assistance Prep metal and materials for fabrication and welding Grind, clean, measure, cut, and prep components for assembly Assist fabricators and welders during active fabrication projects Support chassis modifications, suspension fabrication, and structural work Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas properly Help keep workflow efficient and projects moving forward General Shop Responsibilities Maintain professionalism and accountability within the shop Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship Follow shop safety standards and procedures Communicate clearly with team members and leadership Assist with project organization and overall shop operations Be adaptable within fast-paced custom build environments QualificationsRequired Experience Previous experience working in an automotive shop environment Strong mechanical knowledge and competency Experience performing vehicle disassembly and reassembly Ability to use common automotive tools and shop equipment safely and effectively Ability to complete work efficiently with attention to detail Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to follow directions while also working independently Basic understanding of vehicle systems and aftermarket components Preferred Experience Experience with aftermarket modifications or custom vehicle builds Experience working on trucks, off-road vehicles, race vehicles, drift cars, or restorations Familiarity with fabrication shop environments Suspension installation experience Experience with custom chassis or steering modifications Welding or fabrication experience is a plus Experience using fabrication tools such as: Grinders Cut-off wheels Drills Band saws Plasma cutters Hydraulic presses Understanding of fabrication prep and fitment processes Candidate Requirements Applicants should provide: A resume or portfolio of previous automotive work Photos or examples of vehicles/projects worked on when possible General list of mechanical skills and experience List of tools, equipment, or systems they are proficient with Candidates with personal project vehicles, aftermarket build experience, fabrication exposure, or automotive passion projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
