Overview Join our dynamic team as a Smog Check Technician and become a vital part of ensuring vehicles meet environmental standards! In this energetic role, you will perform precise emissions testing and vehicle inspections, helping customers maintain compliance with state regulations. Your mechanical expertise and attention to detail will drive safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Duties Conduct thorough smog checks on a variety of vehicle makes and models using specialized testing equipment Perform basic vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues that may affect emissions performance Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair techniques to assist with vehicle diagnostics and minor repairs when necessary Maintain accurate records of tests performed, results, and vehicle details in compliance with regulatory standards Assist customers by explaining testing procedures, results, and recommended next steps clearly and professionally Support vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, or other basic auto service as needed Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated regularly and maintained for optimal performance Qualifications Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or auto body work preferred Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic auto maintenance techniques Prior mechanic experience or automotive service background is highly desirable Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in vehicle inspections and repairs Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for recordkeeping and compliance documentation Knowledge of auto restoration processes or heavy lifting experience is a plus Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; relevant certifications in automotive repair or mechanic experience are advantageous Embark on a rewarding career where your technical skills make a real impact! $20.00 - $30.05 per hour
