Compensation:
$38- $50 hourly
Responsibilities:
Examine all vehicle systems such as the air conditioning, engine, transmission, and brake systems with a step-by-step approach Facilitate customer satisfaction and repeat business by following all manufacturer specifications for vehicle systems repairs When needed, conduct routine maintenance such as checking fluids, rotating tires, replacing brake pads, and oil changes Create protocols for tracking diagnostic tests and repairs, acquiring necessary technical manuals, and more throughout our dealerships Ensure a straightforward repair process by clearly communicating systems issues and repairs Perform thorough multi-point inspections on incoming used vehicles Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment Conduct repairs and maintenance, including brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, electrical systems, and HVAC Prepare used vehicles for resale by ensuring they meet dealership and state safety standards Accurately document all work performed and parts used in repair orders Collaborate with service advisors and used car managers to prioritize repairs and meet deadlines Maintain a clean and organized work area Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelinesQualifications:
Excellent customer service and communications skills are necessary ASE certification or comparable standard service technician credential, such as SAE, is attractive Must have completed a post-secondary training program in automotive service technology; associate degree a plus GED or high school diploma is mandatory Technical school training is a plus Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably with used vehicles ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Valid California driver's license and clean driving record Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Owning basic hand tools, the dealership or shop may provide specialty tools About Company At Oxnard Mazda, we don't just offer jobs—we build careers.
